📄 Review Terms & Limitations (Nature of Service, Liability & Disclaimers)

Nature of Service & Limitations

Guide Only, Not an RWC: This inspection is strictly a pre-purchase guide to assist your purchasing decision. It is NOT a VicRoads Roadworthy Certificate (RWC) test and must not be substituted for one.

No Future Guarantee: The report reflects the subjective condition of the vehicle at the exact date and time of the inspection. It does not guarantee the vehicle's future reliability, safety, lifespan, or statutory compliance.

Non-Invasive Visual Check: The inspection is limited to a visual, auditory, and diagnostic evaluation of accessible components. We do not dismantle parts, remove structural panels, or perform internal inspections of the engine, transmission, or differentials.

Diagnostic & Electronic Limits: While advanced electronic diagnostic scanning is performed, we cannot predict intermittent module failures or detect faults if the vehicle's computer has been recently reset or cleared by the seller prior to our arrival.

Unverifiable Defects: Standard on-site inspections cannot definitively identify long-term excessive oil or coolant consumption, hidden structural rust, or accident damage that has been heavily disguised by substandard cosmetic repairs.

Liability & Business Protection

Zero Financial Compensation: Under no circumstances will the business, its technicians, or affiliates be liable to compensate the buyer, seller, or any third party for subsequent mechanical failures, repair costs, towing fees, loss of income, or vehicle depreciation after the inspection.

No Implied Warranty: The inspection report is an advisory opinion, not a warranty or an insurance policy. The final decision to purchase—and all associated post-purchase risks—rests entirely with the buyer.

RWC Failures: A vehicle deemed "satisfactory" in our report may still fail a formal VicRoads RWC test due to differing strict statutory testing criteria. The business accepts absolutely no liability if the vehicle subsequently fails a VicRoads RWC inspection.

Consumer Rights, Disputes & Regulatory Alignment

Industry Standards: Our inspection process is conducted in alignment with general automotive industry standards and acknowledges the best practice guidelines provided by the Victorian Automobile Chamber of Commerce (VACC).

Australian Consumer Law: Our services are provided with due care and skill in accordance with Consumer Affairs Victoria. However, this statutory guarantee applies to the standard of the inspection process itself, not a guarantee of the vehicle's mechanical perfection.

Dispute Resolution & VCAT: Any disputes regarding the accuracy of the report must be submitted in writing within 7 days of the inspection. If a dispute escalates to the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT), the client agrees that the business's maximum financial liability is strictly capped at a full refund of the initial inspection fee paid.

Test Drives

Road Test Conditions: Dynamic road tests are only conducted if the vehicle is legally registered (or holds a valid trade plate), is deemed safe by the technician, and is permitted by the seller. We do not perform high-speed or extreme load testing that violates road laws or risks safety.

HAVE QUESTIONS?

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about Melbourne's premier mobile pre-purchase car inspections, pricing tiers, and our unique interactive service.

What is the "We Come With You" package framework?

Unlike traditional inspection companies that ask you to stay home while a contractor looks at the vehicle alone, Inspect My Ride offers an interactive experience. Our friendly, highly experienced technician meets you directly on location in Melbourne. You stand beside us during the visual check, join us for the live road test, and receive real-time, honest mechanical feedback before you hand over any money to the seller.

What areas in Melbourne do your mobile mechanics cover?

We actively service all suburbs within a strict 35km radius from the Melbourne CBD. For maximum convenience, all of our specialist pre-purchase car inspection packages automatically include 30 minutes of free travel time for our technician to meet you on-site.

Do you inspect Japanese JDM imports, classic cars, and performance exotics?

Yes, absolute automotive specialization is our core advantage. Backed by over a decade of industry expertise, we specialize in high-performance exotics, classic collector cars, and Japanese JDM imports. For these complex vehicles, we strongly recommend our Precision Pro ($390) or Elite Mechanical Certainty ($450) packages, which include deep forensic diagnostic scans, compliance verification, and structural panel evaluation.

How long does a pre-purchase car inspection take?

Depending on the tier you select, our on-site time varies to ensure forensic accuracy. Our standard interactive visual package requires 45 to 60 minutes on-site. The comprehensive Precision Pro package takes 2 to 3 hours, and our Elite Master package features a strict 3-hour booking allocation to conduct specialized relative cylinder compression and combustion leak tests.

When do I receive the technical diagnostic inspection report?

We provide instant, dual-system digital reporting. By utilizing advanced dealership-level diagnostic scanners, our tools generate an immediate electronic technical report right on-site. This is then instantly compiled into a beautifully clear, clear-to-read final multi-part photographic reporting suite delivered directly to your email inbox.

Can you help me negotiate the final vehicle price with the seller?

Absolutely. After our comprehensive vehicle evaluation, we provide you with a realistic price guide based entirely on the car’s true structural and mechanical condition. If we uncover hidden faults, fluid leaks, or wearing brake components, this technical data gives you massive financial leverage to negotiate a fairer price with the vehicle seller.
